AND THE WIND SPOKE

Its been a few days since i wrote anything worthwhile here! It not been for want of what to write but rather for what not to write about. The clatter of issues included Lady Margaret "Iron Lady" Thatcher, The Kolege SHS Confusion, The Series of Strikes on-ongoing and looming, etc etc etc.

Alas, as I drove(sped) down the motorway, in my old toyota, I had no choice but to have my windows rolled down and then the wind spoke! The faster i drove the louder and angrier she seemed. I wondered for a while what exactly she meant until i saw the faded sign post marking the sight for the Accra regional hospital.

It dawned on me, She must be upset with buildings! Oh yes buildings they seem to be coming up fast and furious along the motorway. She said, there are no trees on the motorway, meaning no wind breaks. Why are they depleting the security belt along this road as well? Do they want their roofs ripped of and flying across this road when there is a storm? Do they want a vehicle that runs of the road to run into their homes?

In all of this, what is Ghana waiting for to build the long over due Accra Hospital? Is Ghana waiting till the land is encroached upon before they demolish buildings and waste the development budget on paying compensations? Can't they at least wall of the property to define the space?

Speaking of security belts, how far off the fringes of this road will the hospital be? Hospital often means sick slow, mostly mobility impaired people, isn't the motorway a threat to their safety?

The rest of what she said I better save for another day!

With all my love
A messenger of the wind
