Been a Minute

Hi,

It's been a minute since I last said anything here. Blame it on the rain guys... too many things going on around me. One minute its family, another its work, then our politicians will not have us rest in peace till the next election when they ALL come and make overwhelmingly flamboyant promises and then, and then and then....

Ce la vie, no? No pain, no gain. So let's live the pain bit now hoping that the gain part will come along sooner rather than later.

On the brighter side of life, it is almost wedding season in Ghana again and I can't help but remind us all to:
1. Revise our notes on RSVPing

2. Make sure you dress to suite the occasion - Don't drown  the bride/ bridal party

3. Please don't dish up more food than you can actually eat. Its better go back and dish more than to waste the food! Actually it's bush!

4. Couples and your planners, please be honest with caterer and tell him/her how many people you are actually expecting, so they can have enough food. If you can't afford to feed a lot of people please don't invite them.

5. Pastor/Rev/Bishop/Deacon when you announce those bounds, please don't say "ALL of you are invited, lets turn up in our numbers to support them." The couple may not be ready to host ALL of them.

6.Dear MC, much us we don't want to be rushed out of the reception, we also don't want to be there forever. You know its a season, which means we probably will have to make more than one stop at events before night falls.

Just shot these off the hip. Will be back with more thoughts and notes for the season.

As usual, with all my love

  1. You forgot to add that the food and drinks we are offered at the wedding are supposed keep us participating in the programme and not to be stashed up in "Thank You" polythene bags of different colours and kept under the table, waiting to be conveyed home. We must also desist from pouring the drinks into empty "Voltic Bottles" and placed in our huge bags we carry to occassions for that purpose. We are supposed to enjoy the programme and "Share" with the couple.

Pls remind us also to be patient and wait till our tables are called. Long queues at the buffet table is "Savage"
