MAMA
Happy Mums day to all of you super shes who make it your business to love, nurture, teach, mentor and scold others just for their own good! Essentially, one would say that is who a mother is. So I guess we are right in GH when we classify all the mother figures in our lives by where we know them from, like "MY CHURCH MOTHER" "MY OFFICE MOTHER" etc etc. Motherhood I'd dare say is a way of life that goes far beyond the pregnancy and birthing process. In fact on a good day, those two processes will pale agent the odious task of bringing up a human being.
Today, I'd say well done to women who take in less privileged people, nurse them, train them and turn them into polished gems. I greatly respect the mothers in the orphanages who pick up after life's accidents and give children a sense of belonging. God bless you.
On the reverse, however, I have to say that i feel sorry for the women who maltreat other peoples children and make them feel lonely and unloved. You don't know how much joy you are missing out on. Its so much easier to love.
Finally, to all the shes who have not duly thought of becoming a biological mother, please please please quit having unprotected sex. You see, having an unloved child is so unfair and unjust to the child, that it probably would have made it to the 11th commandment. Not only will the child have a miserable mother, it will have a pathetic childhood and be psychologically saddled with the burden of anger which will annually peak on mothers day.
Honestly, the most realistic mums day message i got reads so:
"Motherhood is a tough 24 hour job, no pay, no day off. Sometimes it is not appreciated, yet resignation is not an option'
So mi ladies, it's a hot kitchen, you better be up to it or get out. To those of you who love the sauna, mother on, mother away by all means. Saw a little boy in a t-shirt that read: MOMS ROCK! What better way to say it...
